House Rules

FOR GOD AND COUNTRY

The following are the house rules for the American Legion Post 145, and can only be suspended by the Post Commander for Special Events.
 
1. The bartender, waitress and employees on duty behind the bar or serving alcohol will not be allowed to consume alcoholic beverages.
 
2. The bartenders, waitress, and employees on duty must by law refuse service to anyone that appears to be intoxicated, or under age.
 
3. The bartender has the right to remove any member or guest that is causing trouble in the bar area.
 
4. No member shall reprimand an officer or employee of the American Legion. Any suggestion or criticism  of the bar or post operation shall be submitted to the chairman of the house committee or post commander in writing for due consideration.
 
5. Any member or guest caught removing, damaging or destorying property of the American Legion is subject to be liable for damages or replacement.
 
6. Cashing of checks is limited not to exceed $50.00. Personnel that has written a bad check will be liable for the additional cost cost up to $50.00. Check cashing will be restricted to members of Droody-Cain post only. Proper Idenification is required by request. Lending or extension of credit at the bar is prohibited.
 
7. Game playing is prohibited expect in prescribed areas.
 
8. Members and guest are required to help keep the post home clean and tidy. All trash, ashtrays and paper will be placed in the trash cans.
 
9. Members are required to answer all phone calls when they are at the post home.
 
10. Intoxicated members or guest  will not be tolerated in the post home.
 
11. There shall be absolutely no open alcoholic drinks removed from the post home for any reason.
 
12. Positively no alcoholic beverages will be served or given to minors. Minors under the age of 18 are prohibited from the post home except on special  events. By law minors over the age of  of 18 may consume  beer but are not allowed to order or pay for the beer.
 
13. No pets will be allowed in the post home except for seeing eye dogs.
 
14. Personnel using  profane language and causing a disturbance will be removed from the post home. Members and guest  that have  been removed for causing a disturbance will be dealt with by the executive  committee.
 
15. Post home operational hours will be observed by all members and their guest. Extension of operating hours may be granted by the chairman of the house committee or post commander.
 
16. All forms of amusement shall cease 15 minutes  prior to states closing time and all personnel must be out of the post home by stated closing time.
 
17. Membership meetings are held on the 2nd Monday of each month. Members will!!
 
      a. Members must be in the meeting area before  6:00 PM.
 
      b. Members will be allowed to leave the meeting for the purpose of retrieving another drink or use of the bathroom.
 
     c. During  executive  board meeting all officers on the premises will be required to attend the executive board meeting or leave the premises until the meeting is concluded.
 
18. Special Events /Sunday operations.
 
     a. All memebers of the American Legion and Auxilary must present a current membership card.
 
     b. All members and thier guest  must sign in on the register at the door.
 
     c. Members are responsible for their guest and may not leave before  their guest.
 
     d. Members will be allowed to sign in as guest all family members and two (2) non-family members.
 
     e. Members and their guest must dress appropriately as set by the Post Commander or the entertainment committee.
 
 19. Dances open to the public
 
      a. The employee or attendant on duty at the door will not allow any person that has been barred from the post home axcess to the dance.
 
      b. The employee or attendant on duty has the right to refuse service to anyone that appears to be intoxicated.
 
       c. The employee or attendant on duty will remove anyone causing trouble.
 
       d. Members and guest are expected to dress comfortably and appropriate, the following items will not be permitted on the dance  area.... short shorts, tennis shorts, jogging shorts, halter tops, tank tops, cutoffs, jogging suits, or extremely revealing clothing.
 
       e. Smoking or drinking on the dance floor during the dances is prohibited.
 
       f.  Members and guest will report all incidents or violations to the emplolyee or attendant working the door and will not try to handle the problem themself.
 
       g  The employee or attendant on duty will have full authority to enforce the house rules and eject any person for misconduct or violations of the house rules. 
 
       h. The employee or attendant on duty on duty will make judgement for appropiate dress.
 
       i. Western hats, legion hats and caps or uniform caps may be worn in the post home at the bar or in the dances. Hats or caps and shirts with offensive printing are not allowed.
 
 20. These rules supersede all previous house rules.
